Les Petits Ecoliers

About Me

sylvie Welcome to Les Petits Ecoliers website! We welcome families from all cultures, religious, and linguistic backgrounds to be part of LPE. We can learn so much from each other. I was born and raised in Libreville, Gabon, a French-speaking country, located in central Africa. I am a mother of one beautiful son. I followed my love of adventure and left Gabon in my very young age. I lived in France for many years while studying hotel management. I love music, adventure, running, travel, and entertaining children. I also discovered a new passion for song writing. To date, all of my CDs have songs written personally by me. In August 2009, I began LPE with a group of friends. We started by offering classes once a week for infants through age 2. As our students grew, so did the sophistication of the class. We now work with children up to age 12 which allows for expanded learning opportunities of the students. Since starting LPE, I recorded 3 CDs of French children’s music (Chansons Francaises pour Enfants) for the class. They include traditional French songs, traditional English songs translated into French, and original music. Each CD comes with a songbook to help families learn and understand what they are singing. In July 2011, I performed at the Dunwoody library as part of the One World, Many Languages and Stories Summer program. I continue to collaborate with parents on how to build LPE to offer the kind of classes their kids will enjoy but also learn. We launched our first summer camp (Base de Loisir) in 2014. We are eager to begin hosting our classes in other Dunwoody locations within the community. We also part of ALLIANCE FRANCAISE OF ATLANTA to promote the French language in metro Atlanta. I invite you to contact me to learn more about LPE or to share your suggestions as we continue to develop the program. Salut!
